The family of churches known around the world as Christian Churches, Churches of Christ and Disciples of Christ began more than 200 years ago in both the United Kingdom and the United States of America. It was a time when churches tended towards legalism, authoritarianism and exclusivism. Our movement began with a passion for the unity of this rigid and divided church. There was deep conviction that unity could not be achieved without a thorough renewal of the church of those times and that through such renewal the life, faith, and order of the 'New Testament' church could and should be restored.
That the Bible is the only inspired, infallible, authoritative, inerrant word of God and is completely inerrant in the original writings.
In a triune God who exists eternally in three person:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His person return in power and glory.
That original sin has separated man form God.
That our only hope for redemption is through the blood of Jesus Christ.
In practicing the holy ordinance of water baptism, which signifies the believer's death, burial, and resurrection into new life with Jesus Christ.
In the present ministry and baptism of the Holy Spirit, why whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.
In the regular celebration of Holy Communion as commanded by Jesus Christ.
In the resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved; those that are saved into the resurrection of life and those that are unsaved into the resurrection of damnation.
In the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
